The orchestra represents the very first segment
comprising the Summer Music
Camp, starting in 1986 with a massive
project comprising over 150 musicians, choir, conductors and assistant
conductors, pedagogues, which final performance took place at the
Ohrid Summer Festival. As of 1997, the Chamber Orchestra was founded,
cherishing chamber music repertoire.
Traditionally the Orchestra performs every year at
the Ohrid Festival on August 2nd, the biggest Macedonian
national historic holiday.

Youth Chamber Orchestra 1999
The ensemble, first of its kind on the Balkans,
shortly became inevitable cultural expression for the music audience,
cherishing highly professional performances. More than 180 young
musicians from 15 countries participated in its sessions.
Somewhat curious is that concert pieces were
written specially for the Orchestra: the Baroque Concertino by
D. Buzarovski, the Rossiniana by V. Nikolovski, Raspevi by
G. Kolarovski
So far, the Orchestra has given more than 60
concerts, achieving high critics and many national music awards.
In 1995 the Orchestra performed during the General
Assembly of the Jeunesses Musicales International in Budapest, marking
both the celebration of 50 years of the JMI foundation and the
affiliation of JM Macedonia as full member of the Federation.
Youth Chamber Orchestra 1998
From the critics:
The foundation of this Orchestra is an event
that should be remembered, and it hides within the strength of our own
future music development
(Nova Makedonija 1988)
The concert of the Youth Chamber Orchestra
was a real experience within the current festivals program. The
repertoire sounded wonderful, acknowledging this ensemble as an
orchestra with high creative qualities
(Nova Makedonija 1992)
By performing La Serva Padrona in the
Church of St. Sofia the Ohird Summer Festival made a step
forward, entering in the era of the so-called ambient programs
in the interior of the Church. A new page in the festivals history
has been turned
(Nova Makedonija 1997)
The JMM Chamber Orchestra presented itself as
an instrumental formation which creative expression one must
admire
(Nova Makedonija, 1999)
